History

From the bustling metropolis that is Masterton, New Zealand, The Dead Zephyrs have emerged as an unlikely force to be reckoned with in the realm of Kiwi Rock. Their journey kicked off a decade ago, cutting their teeth during the notorious eras of King Street Live and Bodega, and honing their craft through covering the greats in the middle of nowhere, centre of everywhere. Now they stand as local legends becoming the first band in history from the Wairarapa to claim the prestigious title of National Battle of the Bands Champions 2023.

Comprising three dynamic individuals - Frontman BB Malloy is more than just the frontman, he has the presence and voice that keeps you watching the entire time. Jordan Tredray the skin-ripping beat master behind the drums. And last but certainly not least, Brian Belluomini, the guitarist who earned his stripes playing the mean streets of San Francisco.

After completing their first tour during May Music Month in 2024 The Dead Zephyrs saw their single “Mr Stix” claim #3 on the NZ Hot Singles chart and gain playlisted radio-play on their favourite kiwi stations, The Rock & Radio Hauraki.

In semi-recent times, The Dead Zephyrs completed a childhood dream of playing at the Wairarapa’s own Summer Hummer festival which brought in roughly 5000+ locals and in previous years had seen the likes of Supergroove, Elemeno P, Drax Project, and Kingz to name a few.

In the next few months The Dead Zephyrs are set to release their latest single online by the name of "Spaceman" which you can pre-order now on the homepage of this very site!

Their infectious energy on and off stage, and their undeniable talent ensures The Dead Zephyrs continue to captivate audiences, although on a small break at the moment, they are bound to leave an indelible mark on the New Zealand music scene.
